17th Century Thassos Marble Drinking Trough
Large drinking trough dated to a good approximation to the 17th century, entirely made of a block of white Thassos marble, also commonly known as "Bianco Thassos", a marble of Greek origin of an absolute white, extremely fine grain, without intrusions and veins.
Distinctive features of the marble in question are undoubtedly durability and excellent resistance to humidity, characteristics that have certainly affected its choice for the construction of the tank. Marble very appreciated also and above all by the sculptors for its purity, or for the absence of veins.
It is in good condition considering the era, perfectly intact.
